What We Do

Consult
Planning a protest, a rally, a demonstration, or an event with a polarizing guest speaker? We can help you to navigate laws, policies, and the U's bureaucracy. Most of the time, these conversations can stay confidential (see the FAQs for details).
Observe
We observe any events that have the potential to significantly disrupt the functions of the university. We wear white reflective vests and are there to serve as resources to organizers and attendees, not to enforce law or policy. We're also available to observe events of any size at student's request.
Educate
Students deserve accurate information about the laws, policies, and rules related to free speech and demonstration on campus. We want you to be able to make fully informed decisions about engaging in civil disobedience, including the possible risk and repercussions. In addition to our Canvas course, Key Information for Student Activists, we create printed materials and offer presentations for clubs, classes, and other groups.
